Volker Eisele shared this photo with us, of young canes and leaves of the 2021 vintage, taken in April of last year. Notice the contrasting fire damage in the lomitas above the vineyard. Amazing what this organically farmed, healthy property can produce!
The vineyard was originally planted by German immigrant Francis Sievers in the 1870s. In 1976, Volker Eisele replanted the original footprint. Volker Eisele is a family estate located in one of the cooler AVAs of Napa, Chiles Valley. Clay-loam to shale varying soils support established Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc vines. This small pocket of Napa Valley produces wines that can stand up to some of the best of Bordeaux. Trust us.
