Gann Family Cellars
Russian river Valley, California / ganncellars.com

The Gann Family Vineyard is a 110 acre estate situated in a unique location, part of both the Alexander Valley and Russian River Valley appellations. Hillsides and benchlands, foggy mornings and sunny afternoons make this a prized vineyard. Originally planted in 1978, it has some of the oldest Chardonnay vines planted in either the Alexander or Russian River Valleys. These old and gnarled vines are prized for their amazing fruit which shows great depth and character representative of their "old vine" maturity.

Wine Description Trade
Chardonnay, 2007
Russian River Valley
The nose shows complex layers of Crème Brule, Apple Pie, and Vanilla Custard with hints of Tangerine, Pineapple and Nectarine. The initial taste shows bright acidity which rounds to a rich texture of green apple, tropical (Pineapple), citrus (Orange), and stone fruit (Apricot & Nectarine). The lingering finish dissolves back to the initial baking spice and buttery pie crust along with toasted hazelnuts. Good acidity in balance with rich texture gives this wine many pairing options including appetizers like bruschetta or soft goat cheeses to more traditional entrees including grilled salmon or chicken. 91 WE Download Label
