2004 "Rock Cairn
Vineyard" Cabernet Sauvignon
(Napa) |
The 2004 Rock Cairn Cabernet Sauvignon opens with bright aromas of dark fruits such as plum, cherry and fig. On the palate the wine is well balanced with flavors of cranberry, mocha and spice. Soft tannins linger with the clean long finish and tastes of currants and vanilla. Drink now thru 2012.
This wine goes wonderfully with rosemary and garlic crusted leg of lamb
accompanied by a rich port sauce.
The backbone of the Cabernet Sauvignon is the fruit
harvested from the Rock Cairn vineyard, 32 acres uniquely nestled in the western hills of Oakville. Rock Cairn was a name given the hill surrounding the vineyard by the Native Americans who traveled the Valley long before a grapevine was ever planted. During their trading treks, the Native Americans would travel over the hill and deposit a small rock on a cairn, saying a prayer for safe travel.

Zinfandel. The grapes were harvested from the Pelissa Vineyard,
organically grown in the heart of the Napa Valley's Oakville
