Napa Wine Company

The Pelissa Family, proprietors of Napa Wine Co., have been grape growers in Napa Valley for three generations. Andrew Hoxsey, managing partner and grandson of Andrew Pelissa, is committed to growing grapes on the company's 600 acres without the use of chemicals, making the winery the largest organic grape growers in Napa County. The winery focuses on the production of varietally true wines that bear the hallmarks of the appellations in which they are grown. Wines of true elegance and distinction from the heart of Napa Valley.

The philosophy of the Napa Wine Company winemaking program is let the vineyard do the talking, "We strive to allow for true varietal expression of the fruit." www.napawineco.com.

2001 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa) Keeping to this philosophy, the 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon received French oak barrel aging to provide the wine with a rich, supple mouth feel and a hint of toastiness. The wine delivers concentrated fruit providing layer after layer of intense fruit flavors of blackberry and black cherry with a blending of a caramel essence and a beautiful spice intensity.
2004 "Rock Cairn Vineyard" Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa) The 2004 Rock Cairn Cabernet Sauvignon opens with bright aromas of dark fruits such as plum, cherry and fig. On the palate the wine is well balanced with flavors of cranberry, mocha and spice. Soft tannins linger with the clean long finish and tastes of currants and vanilla. Drink now thru 2012. This wine goes wonderfully with rosemary and garlic crusted leg of lamb accompanied by a rich port sauce.

The backbone of the Cabernet Sauvignon is the fruit harvested from the Rock Cairn vineyard, 32 acres uniquely nestled in the western hills of Oakville. Rock Cairn was a name given the hill surrounding the vineyard by the Native Americans who traveled the Valley long before a grapevine was ever planted. During their trading treks, the Native Americans would travel over the hill and deposit a small rock on a cairn, saying a prayer for safe travel.

2005 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa) The Napa Wine Company 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon epitomizes the classic style of Napa Valley wines. This is a lush Cabernet with intense aromas of black raspberry, hazelnut and cinnamon bark. In the mouth, the flavors are rich and fruit focused. Ripe currant and blackberry integrate nicely with the toasted oak flavors. The wine has a silky texture that finishes with a long persistent aftertaste. Drink now through 2012.
2004 Pinot Blanc (Napa) Sourced from our own organically grown Yount Mill Vineyards, this wine delivers layer after layer of intriguing fruit nuances. This full fruit flavor dominates in the mouth and becomes enveloped with sweet vanilla. The nose provides a combination of ripe pears, peaches and nectarines. The 2004 vintage is medium to full-bodied and has a long lingering toasty finish. Try the Napa Wine Company Pinot Blanc with jumbo seared scallops scampi style or grilled lobster.
2004 Pinot Noir (Napa)

The 2004 Pinot Noir exhibits bright red cherry notes with a subtle earthiness in the nose. Light nuances of tobacco followed by nice floral essences make this a beautiful, perfumy Pinot Noir.

2005 Pinot Noir (Napa) The 2005 Pinot Noir exhibits a beautiful garnet/raspberry color that offers a very pretty bouquet of violet and rose petal. After a few moments in the glass you will sense nuances of truffles, the first hint of the complexity that follows. Elegant and dressed for dinner this is a Pinot Noir that pleases the senses.
2006 Sauvignon Blanc (Napa)

You will notice a beautiful light green tint to the wine which invites you to aromas of fresh lime and citrus. This Sauvignon Blanc is very bright and clean on the palate and will be a perfect match for grilled summer fare. The finish is particularly long and balanced - a sign of serious wine. It is the perfect accompaniment to Kumamoto oysters on the half shell.

2004 Zinfandel (Napa) The 2004 vintage is Napa Wine Company's fifth release of Zinfandel. The grapes were harvested from the Pelissa Vineyard, organically grown in the heart of the Napa Valley's Oakville appellation. This wine exhibits all the great qualities that Zinfandel lovers expect; delicate aromas of blackberry and raspberry, vanilla and sweet spices, freshly cracked black pepper, nutmeg, allspice and cinnamon with a burnt sugar finish.

This wine is a beautiful compliment to a pepper crusted leg of lamb or smoked St. Louis style pork ribs, which captures the ripe raspberry and spice flavors of our Zinfandel.
