Brownstone Winery

A "Brownstone" in Philadelphia or New York is a row house made of brownstone, a Triassic sandstone popularized in the 1800's as a building material. Jobs in the brownstone quarries of the northeast employed a sizable percentage of Italian immigrants in the 19th century. This family run winery, operated by three generations of Italian winemakers, pays homage to their original Italian-American ancestors who paved the way for future generations by "working the brownstone." www.bluemoonwines.com.

Vintage / Varietal Description Fact Sheet Shelf Talker Label
2006 Chardonnay A clean and bright wine; fruit-flavored style with a subtle touch of oak. A delicate combination of pineapple, pear and citrus aromas. Serve with sautéed chicken, salmon, fresh salads, and sushi. Also available in 1.5L bottles.
2006 Pinot Grigio When you're ready for something a little lighter, here's a Pinot Grigio that offers crisp citrus flavors and a clean, smooth finish. This Pinot Grigio is harvested a little later than most and accented with dry Chenin Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc. It's a very nice cocktail wine that also pairs well with soups, salads, light pastas and turkey or chicken sandwiches.
NV White Zinfandel Finally, a White Zinfandel with the crisp acidity that highlights the bright strawberry and cherry flavors and aromas! This early harvest Zinfandel was fermented with the skins for two days before blending. The nicely balanced sugars and acids make it a satisfying cocktail and a good companion for lighter foods as well as something with a little spice or salt based seasoning, like Asian or Mexican foods. Also available in 1.5L bottles.
2004 Merlot Medium body with a smooth aftertaste. Ripe cherry aromas with a hint of toasty oak. Barrel aged up to 6 months. Recommended meal choices: pizza, tomato sauces, pork tenderloin.
