Brownstone Winery
A "Brownstone" in Philadelphia or New York is a row house made of brownstone, a Triassic sandstone popularized in the 1800's as a building material. Jobs in the brownstone quarries of the northeast employed a sizable percentage of Italian immigrants in the 19th century. This family run winery, operated by three generations of Italian winemakers, pays homage to their original Italian-American ancestors who paved the way for future generations by
"working the brownstone."
